Alayna ate about half of her malt-o-meal and raisins at breakfast. At lunch she ate most of her chopped salad with ranch and all of her spaghetti sauce (with hamburger) and her noodles. She also ate all of her mixed fruit.
Alayna only cried less than two minutes after you left today, Randa. Gary got her the blanket she used at time time and having that to cuddle helped, I think. By the time you went by she was basically over it and was trying on one of the dress up skirts.
To keep you up to date on her toilet training plan and progress here. I have decided to put her in a pull-up the first time I take her potty so that we don't have to worry about sanitary problems on the furniture or floors. She also has been pooping one to two times while here and I don't have to worry about that being a traumatic issue for her (trying to get her underwear off without getting poop all over her...) It doesn't seem to be having a negative affect on her staying dry or telling us potty. For example, today she pooped in her pull-up, but didn't pee in it all day long. I think she is doing well.
One of the things we have been starting to work on with Alayna is using her words more instead of screaming. She screams both when she is angry (at one of the kiddos) and when she is excited. We are helping her say "This is fun" or "Wow!" when she is excited and then using words to express what she wants or feels when she is angry. She really doesn't do it often, but when she does it it pretty piercing! : ) I just wanted to pass that along to you.
After about an hour this morning, Alayna looked all around and asked "Where's my baby?" I tried to help her find one of the dolls, but that wasn't satisfying her. I finally realized she was meaning Peyton! Peyton stays with Grandma on Fridays. I thought that was super cute!
